Vidím Pěkně - Optical Studio & Eye Clinic
A doctor examines your eyes. A few steps away, you choose your glasses - frames you won't find in chain stores. What usually takes three appointments, we do in one.
English-speaking care · No referral or insurance · 30-minute appointments
Three Specialties, One Visit
Optics, optometry, ophthalmology. In most places, those mean three appointments, three waiting rooms, and explaining yourself three times. Here, it's one place, one visit, one conversation, from the first test to the glasses you leave with.
Designer Eyewear
Frames from six independent houses, most of them French. Six is the number we can know properly. Visit during opening hours or book a slower consultation - mention English when you book and the right optician will be there.
Eye Clinic (Ophthalmology)
Medical eye care with an ophthalmologist, in our own clinic. Preventive checks, the retina, eye pressure, the optic nerve, and driver's licence exams. We see adults and anyone from age 13, in unhurried 30-minute appointments.
Optometry
A proper eye exam, taken at its own pace - around 45 minutes. We measure your prescription, watch how the two eyes work together, and recommend lenses for the life you actually lead: long hours at a screen, long drives at dusk, or both.
How a Visit Goes
Whether you've come for an exam, for glasses, or for both, here's roughly how it goes.
1
We talk first
Before any instrument comes out, we talk about how you see, how you spend your days, and what's been bothering you. An exam reads better when we know what it's for.
2
The examination
You'll see the optometrist, the ophthalmologist, or both. We explain each test as we go.
3
What we found
We go through the results in plain language. If something needs attention, we say so and tell you what to do next. You leave with a full written report the same day.
4
Choosing frames (optional)
If you'd like new glasses, this is the unhurried part. We weigh proportion and colour against your face, your prescription, and your taste, which matters more than any rule about face shapes. Some people know within minutes, others sleep on it. Both are fine.
5
Fitting, and afterwards
Lenses are usually ready in three to five working days. We adjust the frame until it sits exactly right, and show you how to care for it properly.
Six Houses, Chosen Slowly
Our collection focuses on independent eyewear designers whose work has authorship, character, and a clear design language. At Vidím Pěkně, you will find Anne et Valentin, La Petite Lunette Rouge, Lesca, Dabrach, Clément Lunetier, and La Brique et La Violette. Together, they create a selection that moves from bold colour and graphic expression to quieter, more architectural forms, always with an emphasis on quality, proportion, and individuality.
Price note: Frames run roughly 7 000 to 13 000 CZK. Hand-cut acetate at one end, Japanese titanium at the other. If you have your glasses made here, the eye exam is on us.

Questions We're Often Asked
-
Yes. The ophthalmologist and the optometrist both speak fluent English — your whole exam, your prescription, and your medical report will be in English. For choosing frames, tell us when you book that you'd like an English-speaking optician, and we'll have one there.
-
No. We're a private clinic — no Czech insurance, and no European Health Insurance Card. You pay us directly after the appointment.
-
No. Book directly, online or by phone. There's no referral and no waiting list.
-
A full ophthalmology exam is 1 500 CZK — visual acuity, eye pressure, the front and back of the eye, and a written medical report. Optometry is 1 000 CZK, or free if you have your glasses made with us.
-
Easiest is our online booking system. You can also call +420 774 491 766 or send a WhatsApp message — we usually reply within a few hours.
-
Yes. We can make lenses from a valid prescription issued in another country. If it's old, or you're not sure it's still right, we'll re-check your eyes while you're here.
-
We see patients from age 13. For younger children, we'll gladly point you to a paediatric ophthalmologist.
-
Not as a rule. We dilate only when it's medically needed — usually for a closer look at the retina — and we'll tell you beforehand if it is.
-
Yes, unless your pupils were dilated. If dilation is needed, we'll let you know in advance so you can plan around it.
-
Your current glasses or contact lenses — all of them, if you use more than one pair — any prescription you already have, and some ID. A referral is welcome but not required.
-
Six independent European houses: Anne et Valentin, Lesca Lunetier, La Petite Lunette Rouge, Clément Lunetier, La Brique et la Violette, and Dabrach. Most frames are hand-cut from Italian Mazzucchelli acetate or Japanese titanium.
-
Yes. They ask for precise measurement and a well-chosen frame, so we take the time to understand how you use your eyes day to day. Complete progressive glasses start at around 12 000 CZK.
-
Yes — Edenred, Pluxee, Benefit Plus, and Up Benefity, for exams, optometry, frames, and lenses alike.
